Save Your World signed the compact for Safe Cosmetics.

Save Your World, under the brands Save Your Skin™, Save Your Hair®, Save Your BodyOrganic Aloe Vera Plant® and Save Your Lips® introduces its skin care and hair care products containing organic aloe vera, a natural and renewable ingredient with moisturizing qualities.

Our organic aloe vera, certified by the International Aloe Science Council, is grown on 7,000 acres in the Dominican Republic and is stabilized within two hours after harvesting to decrease degradation, which is measured by the amount of malic acid. The rind is cut away manually and the inner fillet gel is saved for processing. Because this process is done by hand instead of by machine, the aloe vera does not contain the tips and aloin that can be found in whole leaf aloe products. Our aloe vera is certified “organic” because it is grown without harmful chemicals or pesticides, unlike other products on the market.

“Aloe vera” often brings to mind the cooling sensation of the gel on sunburn, but in reality, its soothing properties may calm many more skin irritations and potentially aid the skin’s healing process. With over 200 biologically active ingredients, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids, aloe vera has been used around the world for thousands of years to treat burns, skin infections, wounds, constipation, ulcers, and more. Legend has it that Cleopatra’s secret to beautiful skin was aloe vera. Greek and Roman doctors used it, and it is mentioned several times in the Bible.

“It’s a wonderful healer for wounds both inside and outside the body,” says Walt Jones, president of the International Aloe Science Council. According to the Mayo Clinic, preliminary scientific studies support the theory that aloe vera, when applied topically, might help skin inflammation.

All Natural Skin Care Aloe DripFull of antioxidants, like vitamins A, C, and E, aloe vera contains a trace of vitamin B12, which is only found in a handful of plant sources. A study published in Phytomedicine (November 2005, volume 12) shows that aloe vera may improve absorption of vitamins E and C.

Finally, aloe vera provides 20 of the 22 amino acids the human body needs, including 7 of the 8 essential amino acids that the body cannot create on its own. Although commonly found in skin care products, aloe vera is not a typical ingredient found in shampoos and conditioners. Our shampoos and conditioners do contain aloe vera because we have found that it provides moisturizing benefits for the scalp and hair.

Save Your World personal care products generate a minimum funding for conservation of $.15 for each product sold.  Some products generate more.  However, even the smallest bar of soap, the smallest bottle of liquid product, accomplishes the goal of Saving One Acre of Rainforest for One Year. Please click here to see a listing of all products’ individual contributions.  Individual Product Contributions.  In addition, you can feel good about the fact that 100% of your contribution from each product sale goes directly to Conservation International to help fund acreage fees and annual royalty fees, and support local communities of indigenous people for the 30-year rainforest lease.  This real and tangible benefit preserves pristine habitat and supports local indigenous people.  Please click here for a very detailed explanation of exactly how Save Your World accomplishes this wonderful mission.  More Information.
